August 2025 — Wheels & Thrills Penang, jointly organized by Despark International College (DSIC) and the Student Representative Council (SRC), was successfully held at DSIC’s Penang branch. The event drew an impressive turnout of car enthusiasts, students, and visitors, all gathering to celebrate creativity, innovation, and passion for the automotive world.
The event featured a stunning lineup of modified and classic vehicles, each showcasing the owners’ dedication and craftsmanship. From striking exteriors to meticulously detailed interiors and spotless engine bays, every car reflected a deep enthusiasm for automotive artistry. A series of awards were presented, including Best Exterior, Best Interior, The Cleanest Engine Bay, and People’s Choice. The winner of the People’s Choice Award also received the Best Exterior Award, making them the standout winner of the day.
Adding to the excitement, the event also hosted a Robotic Car Challenge, which brought together teams from several secondary schools. Participants designed, assembled, and programmed their own robotic cars, competing in speed and presentation categories. The competition tested the students’ creativity, technical skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. The team from SMK Tunku Abdul Rahman, Nibong Tebal claimed the championship title, while two teams from SMK Berapit secured second and third places. The winners were awarded cash prizes of RM1000, RM700, and RM500 respectively.
The celebration reached its peak with the 20th Anniversary of Despark International College, marked by a joyful cake-cutting ceremony and a spectacular fireworks display. The event concluded on a high note, leaving lasting memories of a day that perfectly combined automotive excellence and innovative spirit.
