Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN)
Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN), or the National Higher Education Fund Corporation, was established to provide education loans for students pursuing studies at local higher education institutions (HEIs). This includes both public and private institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education under the Education Act 1996.
The PTPTN education loan scheme is designed to ease the financial burden of students by offering a loan with a flat service charge, known as Ujrah, at a rate of 1% per annum. The loan can be used to cover tuition fees, accommodation, and other study-related expenses.
Upon completion of their studies, students are required to begin repayment according to the agreed terms. This initiative plays a vital role in enabling Malaysian students to access tertiary education, supporting not only their academic development but also enhancing their future career prospects.
Perbadanan Tabung Pembangunan Kemahiran (PTPK)
Perbadanan Tabung Pembangunan Kemahiran (PTPK), also known as the Skills Development Fund Corporation, is a government initiative under the Ministry of Human Resources in Malaysia. It was established to provide financial assistance in the form of study loans to individuals pursuing skills training, particularly school leavers who wish to develop practical vocational skills.
The primary role of PTPK is to offer study loans to those interested in obtaining the Malaysian Skills Certification (Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia, SKM), including school leavers, graduates, and other individuals seeking to enhance their technical capabilities. What makes the PTPK loan especially beneficial is its repayment structure—students are only required to begin repayment after completing their studies. This allows them time to secure employment and establish financial stability before starting to repay the loan.
The fund is fully managed by the Skills Development Fund Corporation to ensure effective implementation and alignment with the government’s mission of developing a highly skilled and competitive workforce.
Employees Provident Fund (EPF)
This scheme allows qualified EPF members to withdraw savings from their Account 2 to finance either their own education or that of their children. The withdrawal is intended to cover a wide range of education-related expenses, including tuition fees, tutorial fees, practical training fees, laboratory fees, library fees, hostel accommodation, and even flight tickets for students pursuing their studies abroad.
Koperasi Jayadiri Malaysia Berhad (KOJADI)
Koperasi Jayadiri Malaysia Berhad (KOJADI) aims to provide educational loans to assist deserving students in pursuing higher education, while contributing to the development of a skilled workforce in Malaysia. KOJADI offers various loan schemes tailored to students in different fields of study, with repayments typically beginning after the completion of the course.
To be eligible, applicants must be KOJADI members. The repayment terms may vary depending on the specific loan scheme selected. For full details on eligibility criteria and the application process, please visit KOJADI’s official website at www.kojadi.my.
