Study Trip highlights automotive innovation, cultural immersion, and industry engagement
Kuala Lumpur, November 2025 – Despark International College (DSIC) recently concluded an eight-day academic excursion to Munich, Germany, aimed at strengthening students’ understanding of global automotive technologies while exposing them to Europe’s engineering culture and heritage.
The study trip forms part of DSIC’s ongoing initiative to integrate experiential learning into its academic programmes, ensuring students gain real-world exposure to complement their classroom knowledge.
A Comprehensive Look at Germany’s Engineering Environment
During the visit, students explored several prominent automotive and industrial facilities known for their contributions to modern engineering.
One of the major highlights was the visit to Motorworld Munich, where students observed an extensive display of legendary automotive models, from heritage classics to contemporary supercars. This exposure allowed students to discuss engineering concepts, design evolution, and performance technologies in an authentic setting.
At BMW Welt and the BMW Museum, students engaged with interactive exhibitions showcasing the brand’s engineering milestones and technological advancements. The trip offered valuable insight into research, development, and production trends in the automotive sector.
The group also travelled to Stuttgart for an exclusive Porsche factory trip, where students walked through the production line and observed the assembly process of high-performance sports cars. This behind-the-scenes experience provided a direct connection between theoretical understanding and practical engineering practices used in world-renowned automotive manufacturing.
Cultural Discovery and Learning Enrichment
Beyond technical learning, the programme incorporated cultural and historical visits to enrich the students’ international exposure.
Students explored Munich’s city centre, including Marienplatz and its famous Glockenspiel, and experienced the vibrant Christmas markets that illuminate the city during the festive season.
Visits to the Residenz Museum, the Deutsches Museum, and the English Garden enabled students to appreciate Germany’s traditions, scientific heritage, and community-centred lifestyle.
The itinerary also included stops at Olympiapark and the Allianz Arena, giving students the opportunity to learn about Germany’s sporting legacy and architectural design associated with large public venues.
Building Global Competence Through International Experience
The Munich study trip served as a meaningful platform for students to develop global awareness and confidence in an international environment. Through exposure to advanced automotive engineering, cultural diversity, and foreign industrial practices, students gained new perspectives that support their academic and professional growth.
DSIC’s Continuing Commitment to Holistic Technical Education
DSIC remains committed to creating learning experiences that expand students’ technical capability while preparing them for industry demands. The College will continue to organise international study trips and industry-linked programmes that foster innovation, global competence, and career readiness.
