DSIC Students Awarded RM40,000 Cycle & Carriage Study Grant 2025

Petaling Jaya, 17 December 2025 – Despark International College (DSIC) proudly celebrates the achievement of four of its students who have been awarded the Cycle & Carriage (C&C) Study Grant 2025, a prestigious initiative aimed at supporting and nurturing future automotive professionals.

Now in its fifth year, the Cycle & Carriage Study Grant reflects the organisation’s ongoing commitment to making quality automotive education more accessible while developing a strong talent pipeline for the industry. Through this programme, a total of RM40,000 in financial assistance was awarded to deserving DSIC students pursuing technical training in automotive maintenance and repair.

The four recipients are currently enrolled in Light Vehicle – Diagnose Service (SKM Level 3 + C&G Level 3) at DSIC:
•Tan Jian Li (23)
•Tan Jian San (21)
•Ahmad Akif Sofwan bin Ahmad Azli (18)
•Chiam Jin Xian (20)

Each student receives a RM10,000 bursary, along with a two-year bonded contract that offers a structured career pathway and guaranteed employment with Cycle & Carriage upon graduation. This opportunity not only eases the students’ financial burden but also provides valuable industry exposure and long-term career prospects.
The grant signing ceremony was held at Cycle & Carriage Mutiara Damansara, attended by senior representatives from Cycle & Carriage Malaysia, including Chief Executive Officer Adrian Short, Chief Financial Officer James Zhang, After Sales General Manager Mark Ho, and Head of People & Culture Christine Eu.

Sharing their appreciation, the students expressed how the study grant has strengthened their confidence and motivation to excel in the automotive field. Chiam Jin Xian shared that the award has given him the encouragement to further develop his technical skills and pursue his long-term aspirations within the automotive industry. Ahmad Akif Sofwan bin Ahmad Azli noted that the support has inspired him to work harder and grow into a skilled professional who can contribute positively to the industry. Meanwhile, Tan Jian San highlighted that receiving recognition from an established automotive group has reinforced his determination to build a solid foundation for his future career.

The Cycle & Carriage Study Grant is open to Malaysians aged 16 and above who are enrolled in automotive training institutions accredited by the Department of Skills Development (DSD) under the Ministry of Human Resources or the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE). Priority is given to students from lower-income or single-income households, ensuring greater access to technical education and career opportunities.
